Full moon setting over San Francisco
I woke up this morning to see the full moon setting over San Francisco, and the sun rising over the hills to the east of Oakland. At full, the moon rises opposite the setting sun and sets opposite the rising sun. I don't usually get up for dawn, so I miss the latter spectacle. Steam rose from my coffee and my breath curled in visible tendrils through the crisp morning air. I missed the morning commute traffic, and had a blissfully brief security line at the airport. All in all, a very good travel morning.
I watch TV in the hotel room--because there is little else to do and because I don't watch TV at home. The Discovery Channel derailed my virtuous plans of turning in early by airing a program on green energy sources. It wasn't the subject matter, perse, that kept me up past bedtime. In the opening montage of quotes and images, I recognized a face and voice. One of my customers was part of that program!
