Awesome
I don't get to be awesome very often. At work, there's a collection of Sr. Engineers far more awesome than I am. At home, I'm too tired to be awesome. In the game most of my friends play I'm still learning to pull my own weight. We don't have a spiffy guest room (yet) to host our awesome friends, so they stay with other people, people with spiffy (and awesome) guest rooms.
Today, in the middle of a most un-awesome repair, one of the Sr. Engineers called to ask me about the software that drives my monster project. This is the Sr. Engineer that specializes in Software Awesome. Not only could I answer his question, and fix the problem, I could explain why it happened in the first place. Booyah.
Though, to be perfectly honest, the only reason he called me is that the other Sr. Engineer, who normally fields his calls, is out of the country.
On an unrelated note... I hate picking up other people's service calls. Someone else made 3x the work for me today, because they were being helpful. Not awesome.
Time to veg out, wind down, and get ready to go out and do it all again tomorrow.
Also... we have door. And it is awesome. It will be installed later, and until then it will serve as a modern art exhibit in our backyard gallery. This installment is called "Door with Patchwork, modern engineering obscured by multiple poly-prints from generations past." On exhibit now through someday, admission free with your choice of baked good or other offering.
Why yes, all I've had to eat today is coffee.
