M's 4th Generation iPod is having issues. Clicking HD issues. Unmountable volume issues. The 'net consensus on resolving 4th-Gen clicking HDD errors is... "Hit it against the desk."

No, really, "I hear it works fairly well for HDD errors."

Not wanting to bludgeon M's mp3 player myself, I guiltily handed it over to him and made him go into another room where I didn't have to see him hit it. Sadly, it doesn't seem to have resolved the read/write issue his hard drive is having. It also hasn't made anything worse. But I feel bad about having him smack it around nonetheless.
