On the nature and design of formal wings...

Due to a peculiar set of unforeseen circumstances, I find myself pondering the nature, design and plausible structure of wings that might accompany formal wear. Would they be diaphanous and structure-less, or glittery, or barely there? Would they spoil the aesthetic of an a-line silhouette? Can that measure of whimsy be wrapped into a formal and meaningful moment without driving it to silliness? Is silliness an integral concept to the contemplation of formal wings?

What sort of dress code would that establish? Casual dress, wings optional.

Hmmm.... *ponder ponder*

Wings add grace and flow to a simple A-line form. I would suggest a soft drapey sort of fabric with irregular edging, possibly beaded for sparkle, but only lightly, and long enough to wrap the ends around you for a cocoon affect with out looking like a blanket. Something lacey and light.
