Monday, Monday
I am beginning to hate our Mondays all over again. M gets up, puts his already packed bags in the car, kisses me on the head and then goes away for the week. I sit on the con call, waiting to hear how my week will fall out, and if we're really lucky we get to have dinner with each other once before Friday. Fridays aren't always time together, either. Most Fridays involve the airport, or a really long drive home through variable traffic.
Whine whine whine.
Occasionally we ruefully mention to one another how easy some of the other couples we know have things. They actually get to see each other daily, share meals, fall asleep next to one another... but every couple has their own stresses, and the upside of our crazy work schedules (right now) is that we're not worrying about money (too much) while the world takes it's cataclysmic economic backsliding to epic proportions (at least if you believe what the news says).
We took our engagement pictures this weekend in Balboa Park. Neither M nor I are particularly camera-friendly, so it was a little awkward at first. By the end of the two hour session, we felt a lot more comfortable with our photographer and hopefully there's a few nice pictures in there too! I'm really glad we took the time to do engagement pictures, since being camera-shy is one less thing to worry about at the wedding now.
Also... I've never had a boyfriend that appeared in photographs before. Maybe I'll get M a little travel frame, stick one of our engagement photos in it, and send it off with him on his travels. I don't know if that would make him feel more or less lonely. Being the one on the road is a lot easier for both of us than being the one left at home. Maybe we'll have to work out some strategic photo placements in the house instead.
In completely unrelated news, we got tagged by his old guild in WoW over the weekend. It is a massive group of what seem like very nice people. I am known as M's wife-to-be, which I find wryly amusing (but apt!).
I'm waiting for the all the paperwork I need to get through customs in Edmonton, then I'll be off to the airport. Neither of my phones have coverage internationally, so I won't be able to talk to anyone (M included) at all, unless the hotel has internet.
