Election Day

M and I took the time to review all of the ballot measures and initiatives for today's election. We've talked about the Presidential race, and why it's such a difficult decision for me when it feels like a no-brainer to many others. We don't always see eye-to-eye, and that's helpful. He gives me a new perspective to consider, and we didn't end up in any heated arguments over politics (at least not with each other).

We tend to have similar baseline beliefs. Sometimes we disagree on a particular implementation of them. Our house is not a microcosm of America as a whole, but our broader, blended families may be. We've got everything from unabashed liberals to unyielding conservatives our combined family trees.

This rainy Tuesday, I'll be voting at a polling place near our home. It feels different than voting near an apartment I've lived in. The decisions we make on municipal and state spending will affect us directly through property taxes and (hopefully) expanded amenities and resources.
